Sunset Foods | Departmental Concept, Design + Store Decor Book Development
Sunset Foods, a Chicago-area supermarket retailer, needed a complete Decor Book for one of their stores that was being up-fitted. In addition to re-designing and planning the typical elements (department signs, wall graphics, aisle/checkout markers and so on), they needed special care taken for some brand new elements, such as a floral "shop", a coffee bar, and an Asian "ready-made meal" eatery. In designing the new "Asian Grill" (above), the team needed to carefully develop and specify specific elements so that a fabricator would be able to build it. Specifically, a specially-designed wood trellis, a shoji screen, paper lanterns and lighted signage/typography fitting for the genre were the elements that successfully created the "Asian Grill". (Completed while working on a team at Little- Clay Durkin, Designer)
