The Standard | Concept, Logo + Sign Development
After The McAllister Group purchased a series of 4 historic buildings in the burgeoning downtown area of Gastonia, North Carolina, they intended on turning them into a mixed-use destination, but they needed an identity for their new investment. Incorporating research found, relating to the textile-rich history of this city and in particular, labor triumphs of the "common worker", the team created a concept and mark that not only told a great story but was rich in color and vibrancy. This design solution was then carried over and applied to a 3-dimensional signage system. "The Standard" as a concept and mark proved to be exactly what the client wanted to achieve. (Completed while working on a team at Little- Clay Durkin, Designer)
